This is the second annual Mansfield Pottery Festival with even more to celebrate this year starting with the Poets of Pottery Exhibition Opening Night on March 8 where visitors can then view the ceramic creations at the Mansfield Masonic Hall at no cost all weekend. The Opening Night celebration is a free event but numbers are limited - follow the link to the MAD Potters website for bookings.
The Potters Market features over 45 stalls showcasing works by more than 60 potters from around Victoria, along with pottery demonstrations and a Clay Play area for kids (with clay kindly donated by Walker Ceramics). The kids can get their hands in the clay throwing a pot or hand-building.
Live music, hot coffee and ice cream, plus a sausage sizzle, tasty Flaming Pizzas, and pastries - it's set to be a fabulous weekend outing for the whole family.
The atmosphere of the Potters Market under the leafy canopy in the central median strip of Mansfield, is a great family-friendly experience.
On March 10, join a paid workshop with photographer Kirstie-Lee Smith and learn to capture your ceramic pieces or join a masterclass in throwing large forms with ceramicist Anthony Jensen.
