What can you expect from a day at the 133rd Tolmie Sports?
There will be novelty events and foot races, raffles, guessing competitions and entertainment for all, including Trixie the Clown, “Bash the Rat”, face painting and woodworking displays, local historical and craft displays, the Cross Cut Saw event, Handball Competition, Sheaf Toss, Egg Toss, Ball in the Barrel comp, along with perennial favourites the Fergie Club, Andy, the Blacksmith and the Bush furniture display.
The Axeman and Equestrian programmes run throughout the day; one of the big highlights being the Three Man Challenge Event, involving a race between teams – each consisting of an axeman, a runner and a horse and rider.
The day will also include one of the most anticipated and loved events – the Dog Jump.
There will be a bar, along with lots of stalls and food outlets selling delicious wholesome country tucker to suit all tastes, or you can bring along a picnic and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and spirit of a good old fashioned country sports day.
The day will be capped off with an old time Bush Dance at the Tolmie Hall in the evening, highlighting bush band, “Couchgrass”.
