Tolmie Sports Day - Saturday 11th February 2012

Tradition is set to continue as the Tolmie Sports celebrates its 126th anniversary of this iconic family event. An action packed day is promised with wood chopping, including the North East championships, equestrian events, novelty races for young and old, craft and produce stalls as well as clowns and other entertainment. Catering and bar facilities are available so grab the picnic rug and enjoy a picnic under the shade of the old peppermint trees at the Tolmie Sports Ground.    View http://www.tolmietimes.com/ for full program. Saturday Night - Tolmie Sports Bush dance
In memory of Bernie Kirley who played for Tolmie Dances for nearly 50 years, this years Tolmie Sports Bush Dance is even more special, as well as being the usual rollicking good fun! So get your dancing shoes on, grab your partner and enjoy a fabulous night for a traditional old time Bush dance.  Featuring  live bush band "Jigid" who will call the steps so everyone is able to join in. A fabulous night is promised at the Tolmie Mechanics Institute. 7.30pm-midnight. Door prizes, "Teen Belle" and "Star of the Evening" and a free country supper will be served. Tickets at the door. Entry Adults $10, Children $5 Families $25.
